For example, plywood core flooring can contain upwards of 10 layers whereas solid core engineered flooring is just 3. Each layer has to be glued to into the product, meaning that plywood flooring has tremendously more glue added in. Glue tends to have harmful chemicals that are damaging to both humans and the environment. While the glues used in hardwood flooring is safe for use, the less of it used the better.
